947 (previously known as 94.7 Highveld Stereo) offers a mix of local and national programming. It primarily plays contemporary soft rock and popular current hits, but has shifted away from classic hits after a programming change in 2010.

The station made its debut on September 1, 1964 as the first SABC regional FM service, “Radio Highveld”, and initially aired hourly news and easy listening music. In 1996, the SABC sold Radio Highveld to private ownership.
