5FM

5FM is a South African FM radio station owned by the South African Broadcasting Corporation (SABC) that plays a Top 40 music format. It originated from LM Radio, a commercial station in Lourenço Marques (now Maputo), Mozambique. The station was first launched as “Radio 5” on October 13, 1975 after Mozambique’s independence and was named as the SABC’s fifth national radio channel. It was later renamed “5FM” in 1992.
