UCT Radio is known for its diversity, dynamism, and engagement. As the largest campus radio station in Cape Town, it has a broad reach, broadcasting to the Northern Suburbs, Cape Flats, and Southern Suburbs.

Being student-run and serving the campus-community, UCT Radio reflects the diverse culture and ethos of campus life. The station takes a cross-genre approach to music, playing 90% South African music and supporting emerging artists and talent. This has led to strong partnerships with theaters, cultural centers, record companies, and bands.

UCT Radio targets an audience of aspirational youth, those who are driven to succeed in their careers, finances, and personal lives while also having a social conscience. The station aims to reach high school pupils, students from other tertiary institutions, young professionals, as well as others who prefer its youthful, vibrant music and vibe over more conservative mainstream radio stations.
